CERTIFICATION

Why choose BEAC certification?

Market research revealed that the environmental, health and safety auditing community prefers to use The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) and the Auditing Roundtable, Inc. (AR) joint venture to fulfill certification needs by a wide margin.  The BEAC's Board of Directors combines auditing and environmental management expertise that is unmatched in the global market. The members of The IIA and AR serve as  senior managers in their organization and as board members of the largest, most successful corporations in America.  In addition, BEAC is dedicated to serving the needs of environmental, health and safety auditors and ONLY environmental, health and safety auditors.

BEAC is a member of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB), a third-party accreditation board. CESB has granted full accreditation to BEAC's Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) certification. This recognition and accreditation is tangible evidence of BEAC's commitment to excellence of it's CPEA program and provides assurance to applicants, certificants, and employers of certificants that the BEAC CPEA certification program is operated consistent with recognized credentialing practices.

Who else recognizes the BEAC certification?

The CPEA designation qualifies for professional recognition credit for Part IV of the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) exam, administered by The IIA. The IIA has over 150,000 members worldwide and is the most experienced and credible internal auditing association in the world.

BEAC has signed a Letter of Agreement with the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), and CPEAs qualify for ASSE Professional Member Status. BEAC has also signed a letter of agreement with American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), whereby the AIHA recognizes and endorses BEAC's CPEA certification.

BEAC, The Roundtable, and the Canadian Environmental Auditing Association (CEAA) have signed a Declaration of Cooperation to provide mutual recognition of certifcation and training programs.

In February 2004 BEAC and the American Chemistry Council (ACC) signed a memorandum of understanding giving BEAC an oversight role in implementing ACC's Responsible Care® third-party certification requirements. BEAC is the only organization currently offering the RC Auditor examination.

BEAC certification meets the requirements for facilities seeking to join the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency's Performance Track program.

BEAC certification qualifies for the U.S. Department of Energy's greenhouse gas emission reporting requirements.
